A beautiful day in Adelaide. Although there was total cloud cover the temperature soared during the day and some teams were playing in 28 degree heat. It's a rest day for the netballers - A chance for the players to catch up with family and/or hit the shops or do some sightseeing.
Unfortunately the U/13s were only able to have a 1/2 day to catch up with their families as they played SAUCNA blue early in the afternoon. The girls were playing some fantastic netball and the goals were soon notching up. They were eventual winners by 6 goals. Best Players: Chelsea York - GA, Emma Groves - GD and Isabella King - C.
The U/17s played their only game at 7.30pm against Marleston. This was sure to be a tight tussle as their last encounter was a real fight to the end with Marleston winning by just 1 goal. The girls fought hard and lead changed several times throughout the match. Marleston eventually won the game by 4 goals. Best players: Sara White - GS, Bec Boxall - GD and Hollie Coleman played well in the Centre.
The U/13s played their second game also at 7.30pm (luckily they played next to each other and I was able watch both games!!) against Corcoran Park (from Townsville). This was also a very tight tussle and the lead was changing throughout the game. Our girls tried hard but disappointingly lost the game by only 1 lousy goal :( . This team must win their final rostered game on Thursday against Port Adelaide and then cross their fingers and toes to see whether they will make the finals on Friday. Best players: Chelsea York - GA, Emma Groves - GD and Linda Fish - GK.
Ian surprised Chelsea and Claire today by arriving in Adelaide at 9am. Jamie Roach also arrived today to watch the last half of the week of some great games of netball.
I apologise for the lack of photos again today - it is due to the late games and the poor camera I have.

CANA - Day 4 (Tuesday)
Fantastic weather conditions today in Adelaide for netball.
The U17s played played SAUCNA again this morning. The girls started poorly and were always playing catchup. Bec Boxall came into the game after half time and the team rallied. Unfortunatley the girls werent able to get over the line and they lost the game by only 1 goal. Best Players: Bec Boxall - GD, Ashlee Nichols - GK and Sara White - GS.
Their second game was to be a hard one against top of the pool - Westfields. This is a well oiled team and extremely disciplined and acurate. They were run away winners 35-17.
Our U13s again played Marleston this morning. The Tassie girls looked sluggish and disappointingly uninterested - this of course enabled the Marleston girls to take hold of the game and were clearly the better team on the day winning by 17 goals.
Their second game tonight was against SAUCNA and again the girls had their work cut out for them. Marleston were making the most of every scoring opportunity whilst Tassie were indecisive and it caused turnovers. SAUCNA won 42-20.
Best players: Emma Groves - GD and Isabella King - C tried hard.

CANA - Day 3 (Monday)
We finally getting to see the sun today - YAY !!!
U/17's played at 2.00pm against Corcoran Park (Townsville). Our girls looked like giants against them :( . It's difficult to report Best Players because the final score was 70-9. Claire Minton - WA, Bec Boxall and Ashlee Nichols all played well.
The U/13's played at 5.00pm against Corcoran Park and unexpectantly experienced a tough game. A few player changes at half time enabled the girls to reduce deficit and they were unlucky to lose the game by only 3 goals !! Final Score: 33-36. Best Players: Chelsea York-GA, Chloe Eiszele-GS and Isabella King-C.
The U/13's enjoyed a few hours of fun and excitement at the Glenelg Beach House today. Its an indoor waterpark. I have included a few photos of their excursion.
My housemates (Lisa Eiszele, Clay and Michelle King, Melinda Roach and Michelle Fogg) along with myself enjoyed a lovely countermeal at the "Seven Stars" pub just along the road from our house and then we stopped by the Bottleshop and enjoyed a drink and a few laughs before heading to bed at 2am !!!
Clay and Michelle Fogg were heading to the airport at 5.30am for their flights home - poor buggars !!!

Monday's Weather in Adelaide !!!
Looks like the weather has finally settled down here in Adelaide - YAY !!!
Although I havent been outside as yet - there is NO wind and I can see blue sky (still a few clouds hanging around though).
As I didnt get to upload the U/13 photos from yesterdays games - I have loaded a few on this entry. As I mentioned before, I wasnt able to take pics of the U/17's due to severe weather storm and scoring duty.
I hope to rectify that today :)

CANA - Day Two (Sunday)
Day 2 in Adelaide and OMG the weather is still CRAPPY !!!
U/13s played SAUCNA blue this morning. After a rocky start our girls fought hard and eventually prevailed 39-33. Best players: Isabella King (Bock) - C, WA, Chelsea York, GA and Ghislaine Morgan - WD. Ghislaine came into the game after qtr time and kicked butt !!!
Their second game at 4.30pm was against PANA (Port Adelaide Netball Assoc) and although they got a jump on our girls at the start, we fought back and after being 7 goals down in the 3rd qtr the girls played well and won the game 31-24.
Best Players: Chelsea York - GA, Bock King - C and Chloe Eiszele GS.
The U/17s only played 1 game today and unfortunately I dont have the final score to report, but Fuzz tells me they lost by a LOT :( . There was a massive rain and win storm that hit during the game and the girls were absolutely soaked !! I'm unable to report on the best players as I wasnt able to watch the whole game, but what I saw, I thought that Bec Boxall - GK and Ashlee Nichols - GD were playing very well.
I'm very sorry, but due to scoring duties and severe weather conditions, I was unable to take any photos of the 17's game :( . I promise to make up for that next time.

CANA Championships - Saturday 26 September 2009
Day One - Saturday 26 September 2009
The weather here in Adelaide has been very poor. It blown a gale, rained, haled and did I mention the wind ???
The opening ceremony was quite short (just the way we like it) and thank God the rain held off for entire time. Chels was quite nervous as the first duty as Captain of the U/13 team was to lead the entire Championship teams onto the courts. There werent many smiles forth coming as the look of concentration took over.
The U/13 team played Marleston first up and the U/17's took on SAUCNA.
The 13's started quite well but Marleston ran away with the game in the second half and won the game 31-11. Best players: Emma Groves - GD, Chelsea York - GA, Isaballa King - C, WA.
The 17's game was very close throughout and with a deficit of 6 goals heading into the final quarter the girls rallied but heartbreakingly lost the game by only 2 goals.
Best players: Ashlee Nichols - GK, Hollie Coleman C, WA & Sara White GS.
Our U/13s played SAUCNA in the 2nd game at 7.30pm. It proved to be the tough game as it promised to be and our girls lost the game 14-39. The wind was playing havoc with the ball and our girls found it extremely difficult to score.
Best players: Isabella King - C, Chelsea York - GA, Emma Groves - GD.
The U/17s were outclassed in their game against Westfield (new association from NSW entering the competition for the first time). The courts were very wet following a severe hail storm that left fairly large stones on the court prevented our team from using their past paced game and the Westfield team were runaway winners by 30 goals.

Gold Coast Queensland - 2009
We had a FANTASTIC holiday on the Gold Coast during the September school holidays.
The weather was great and the company we shared was equally as good.
We enjoyed trips to the Theme Parks and of course the girls and Ian enjoyed shopping at the DFO's.
I've posted a couple of photos of our family having lots of fun !!

Easter Bunny Found Us - and it was Ash's birthday too !!
We've been having a great time at Port Arthur and we were all so pleased that the Easter Bunny found us, because now we have so many chocolate eggs to enjoy while we'er camping.
Ash and Steve joined us on Thursday night and they went home (reluctantly) this morning so we were able to celebrate Ash's 19th birthday with her yesterday.
We all went to the Comfort Inn (located just above the historic site) for a meal last night for Ash's birthday and it was delicious!! Ian and Darren went shopping at Nubeena yesterday afternoon and bought an unfilled pavlova and a mud cake for Ash's birthday - we all tucked into them when we got back to camp after tea.
The boys have had no luck with the crays so far - only two undersized ones in Darren's pot yesterday morning. So they've gone to try their luck with the tuna out at Tasman Island today.
The weather has been absolutely FANTASTIC !! Only a few spits of rain early in the night, but not enough to force us inside - wooo hoooo !!
Our card games have been happening every day and to date the Lisa (Boxall) and Ian team have prevailed with scores : Saturday 2-1 and Sunday 4-3. Of course Darren and I are sure to rectify those stats this afternoon/evening !!
We're now waiting for Tracey, Faith and April to arrive - they left almost an hour ago, so they wont be far away now !!
Check out the photos: The boys measuring the crays yesterday morning and Darren releasing them back into the ocean. The girls hanging out around the firepot and Birthday photos taken last night.

2009 TNL Aurora League Season has commenced
Wooo Hoooo - Netball has started for 2009 !!
Fuzz and Bec kicked off their season with Round 1 last weekend and had a tough match first up against a polished looking Cavaliers (Launceston team). Our girls put up a brave fight and although the score really doesnt tell the story - they all played pretty well. Cavaliers prevailed 50-23.
Round 2 was on Sunday night against Arrows. This time our Cripps girls didnt work well together and looked very scrappy the whole game and were convincingly beaten every quarter and in every third of the court. Although the Arrows played a good game and were outright winners on the night, our girls should be well prepared next time they meet. Final Score: Arrows 49 - Cripps 27. It must be said: This team can be beaten !!! - Player of the Match: Zoe Crawford (Arrows)
Here's where I give you a match report !!
On Friday night (6 March) our Cripps girls played DJ's. Our girls hit the court full of confidence and were firing right from the start. The starting line up was :
GS: Bec Langford
GA: Jess Boulter
WA: Steph Butterworth
C: Claire (Fuzz) Minton
WD: Bec Boxall
GD: Emily-Kate Garvey
GK: Ashlee Nichols
sub: Nikki Stoneman
sub: Zoe Cupit
This week our shooters (Bec and Jess) made good space in the circle and with terrific feeding into them by Fuzz and Steph, the defenders had NO CHANCE !!
Fuzz, Steph and Bec Boxall combined extremely well at the other end of the court and took many intercepts as DJ's tried their hardest to get the ball into their shooters.
Ashlee and Emily worked their butts off in defence and their hard work paid off. If they weren't deflecting the ball away from their opponents, they were holding their stretch well enough to panic the shooters and then their strong boxing out enabled them to grab the rebounds !!
This week the Cripps girls were strong at leading onto the ball and were placing their hands over every ball when in defence. The Final Score told the story: Cripps 51-DJ's 19. Player of the Match: Claire (Fuzz) - Cripps
I've posted some photos from the game that Lisa Boxall took on Friday night - ENJOY!!

Camping at Port Arthur
We headed to Port Arthur for a few days of R 'n' R on Sunday.
The weather has been ok - although not warm enough to venture down to Stewarts Bay for a dip in the ocean.
The only dip has been had by Ian today while he dived for a cray and/or a few abs.
I'm updating this page while he's scouting around the submerged rocks and ocean floor - I love the new telecommunication system !!!
Fuzz and Chels stayed up at the Park to have a hit the tennis racquets and keep on eye on the fire pot.
We haven't been able to score in crays (keepers!!) in our craypots this time. Only 7 undersize crays for the 2 days of potting!!
The Dawn Princess Cruise Ship made its ways in the bay this morning as we were out pulling our pots. I've put a couple of pictures of it while we were out there on our blog for you to have a look.
Cheers
Lisa

Australia Day Weekend at Stewarts Bay Lodge !!
We've arrived !!!
Our cabin (3brm) is FANTASTIC !! Darren and Lisa snavelled the room with giant bunk beds in it - so Ian and I have to sleep in the queen bed.
Laura, Bree, Fuzz and Chels have the other room - plenty of room for all of us.
The living area is very spacious and we're all pleasantly surprised that we're NOT stepping all over each other.
The girls have already headed down to the beach for a quick squizz.
I've placed our cabin tour on our blog for you see it too !!
