Day trip to Surveyors Bay !!

We headed to Surveyors Bay today to spend the day with the Thompson Family.

With showers persisting at regular intervals during the morning the kids (Fuzz, Laura, Chelsea, Bree, Heath, Nikki, Faith, Sharna and April) spend some time indoors playing with their Christmas gifts, but when the sun came out (after lunch) they headed to beach for a dip!!

When the sun was out it was quite warm and there was no need for warm clothes, just a hat and sunnies.

Bree was lucky enough to find a small seahorse in the shallows and after showing all the little ones, placed it back in the water for safety.

We had the best day - thankyou Carol and Ken for your hospitality and also to Lisa, Tracey and Shane and families for your company xx

Happy Birthday Meg xx

Christmas Day is here - FINALLY !!!

Wow - How exciting !!!
Christmas Day has arrived. Our girls (Chels, Fuzz & Ash) were all up very early and begging Ian to don the Santa gear and start handing out the pressies from under our tree.
We all received some Fantastic Gifts and we then tucked into our warm crossaints and ham followed by plenty of cherries for brekkie - YUMMMMM!!!
We prepared for our day yesterday by getting meats, vegies and salads ready last night (Christmas Eve). When Ash & Steve arrived and unpacked their gear we split into teams and played a game of Pictionary. Teams were: Ash, Steve & Chels v's Ian, Lisa & Fuzz. Team two won convincingly - WE ROCK !!!
Chels then decided to put on our Santa Suit and danced around the loungeroom - we were all in stitches, she was soooooo funny !!
I've attached some photos from last night and this morning's pressie opening and brekkie - let us know what you think.

Merry Xmas and Enjoy your day xx

End of 2008 School Year !!

Chels' finished Primary School today.
She attended the Grade 6 Leaver's Dinner last night at the New Norfolk Golf Club. Apparently the night was action packed and she was looking pretty good "boppin'" on the dance floor when I arrived to pick her up (it finished at 9.30pm).
With Xmas fast approaching and many more gifts left to be purchased - both Fuzz and Chels' finished school today at their respective schools - Ogilvie High School and Fairview Primary School.
Both our girls did extremely well during the year at their schools and they were rewarded accordingly. Fuzz won a Scholarship to Claremont College and was presented with her award on Monday night at a Presentation held at the Federation Concert Hall. Chels' was equally awarded with the Rotary Award for Community Spirit, and she received a framed certificate and a $30 voucher redeemable at Bookcity.
I have attached photos of Chels' before she left home for the Leaver's Dinner last along with a photo of her holding her Certificate and Voucher she received today during the Final Grade 6 Assembly.

It's Chels' Birthday -- Now she's 12 !!!!

We've had a GREAT weekend in Launceston with Lisa, Darren, Bec, Laura & Nikki whilst Bec & Claire attended the Phase 1 U/17 State Netball Team trials at the Silverdome.
It was Chels' 12th Birthday on the 29th (Saturday) so we all had a terrific time jamming on the World Tour Guitar Hero she opened on Saturday morning and then Darren and Ian took the girls to Seahorse World at Beauty Point (check out the photos).
Darren & Lisa along with Ian and I have enjoyed our Euchre challenges during the evenings and although Darren and I struggled with our usual dominating play (it must have been the wine!!) Lisa B & Ian didn't experience any difficulties at all this time around, and they won both Challenges (Friday & Saturday nights).
Darren clearly didn't like the "mini" cards we played with on Friday, nor did he like the "older" cards we used on Saturday and the "older" pack suffered the same fate as the "mini" cards did on Friday night (see the attached photo).
Thank you for an enjoyable weekend Darren & Lisa, Bec, Laura and Nikki - we've had a fantastic weekend and we look forward to another jamming session on Guitar Hero and many more Euchre games (with much better cards of course!!)

Anyone want to play ABBA Singstar??

We had a great day today with Lisa, Darren, Laura & Nikki having many challenges on the ABBA Singstar!!
Carmel, Heath & Sharna arrived and all the kids were able to verse each other at Buzz Mega Quiz - they had great fun with that (Sharna was the winner).
I've attached some photos of the "budding" idol contestants for 2009 for you to have a look at !!!!
Cheers

We Have Netball News !!!

Claire will be playing with Cripps Waratah in 2009 !!!

The TNL U/19 & Seniors selections for Cripps Waratah Netball Club were held on Monday 3rd & 10th November 2008 at Aurora Sports Stadium. Fuzz attended both selection sessions and "showed her stuff" during the matchplay.

She received notification on Friday 14th November that she was selected as a member of the U/19 team - and she is very excited. Bec Boxall was also selected and both the girls are looking forward to once again playing together.

Chels, Nikki and Laura will participate in their selections on Sunday 7th and 14th December for the U/13 & U/15 divisions.

Whilst I'm on the subject of Netball, please note that our "Y-Nots" team had a bye on Thursday night (13 November) and there are just 2 games left for us (as we wont make the finals).

I've attached a photo of Claire (Fuzz) in her Southern Tasmania Regional Academy uniform (cant wait to post a picture of her in a Cripps Waratah uniform!!)

Some New Pics For You To See !!

These photos were taken at Port Arthur (show weekend).
We all had a great time (maybe Ian & Lisa B struggled to have a good time - seeing as though Darren and I whipped their butts at Euka!!), and it was great to see all the kids enjoying their time together too.

The weather was terrific and the boys enjoyed the fishing too - you can see Craig and Ian doing the dishes after we had fish in beer batter for tea !!

Camping at Port Arthur

Our first day at Port Arthur this weekend was GREAT !!

Tracey arrived around 11.30am with Faith & April, Bec & Claire and as Faith and April headed off with Nikki and Chels, Bec & Fuzz got to work and put their tent up.

The park was starting to fill with other campers and as Ian and Darren were out in the boat fishing, Lisa, Trac & I chatted over cups of tea around the firepot.

Lisa and I gave the kids their show bags (we popped into the Hobart Show on Wednesday before picking Fuzz up from school) and purchased a couple of show bags for the kids - "we're good Mum's eh!!"

The fellas arrived back at camp around 4.00pm with 6 flatties, 2 gurnets & a leather jacket.

Now for the Euka challenge!! Lisa (Boxall) & Ian were off to a flying start and quickly took out the first two games. Darren and I fought back and took the score to2 all, then 3-2, 4-2 then 4-3 then 5-3 and after Ian's "whining" we played on and finished with Darren & I leading the Euka Challenge 5-4 at 11.30pm !!
Lisa and I are purchasing a new pack of cards today (Port Arthur ones). Someone put the old pack in the FIREPOT !!
