Monday 6 October - Trip to the "Frosty Mango"

It's to be very hot here in Northern Queensland today - expected top 34 degrees. We're heading to the Frosty Mango (its a tropical fruit property that makes it's own Sorbet). It's 66 kms north of Townsville.

There were several different flavours of sorbet to try - Chels had a pineapple cone, Fuzz had a lemon and fruit salad cup, Ian tried a mango and fruitsalad cup and I had a vanilla and pineapple cup - Delicious!! (photos of sorbets above)

On our way back to Townsville we stopped by a place called "Paradise Waterhole" at Big Crystal Creek. With the sun beating down on us it was very, very hot and although Chels and I planned not to swim in the waterhole - we couldnt resist and were extremely pleased we did - It was amazing !! The water was so clear you could see the bottom, but there was no way anyone was able to touch it in places. There were lots of people there.

Oh of course I must mention that along the way we "just have to stop and check out the various boat ramps". I've posted a couple of pics of some - Carol do you recognise them?? LOL
Let us know what you think of the photos xx

Monday 6 October - Brekky on the Strand

We moved to an apartment today - still staying at Rydges on Southbank though (pics above of the girls on their beds). We climbed into "Annabelle" our new hire car (it's an Astra) & she's new because "Leo" our Hyundai Getz started to lose power and he was coughing and spluttering a lot so Avis upgraded our car.

After a short drive (about 2 minutes) we arrived at The Strand and we went to Juliette's for brekky. Chels and I had waffles (Chels had maple syrup and cream, I had caramel sauce and gelato - YUM!!) Ian had homemade scones with jam and cream, Fuzz had a cheese and ham croissant & some raisin toast.

I'm sure you can tell from the photos we've posted - our Brekky was DELICIOUS !!!

Townsville - Sunday 5 October

Now that the CANA carnival is over, we plan to relax (only sometimes) see some sites and of course snorkel the reef.

We booked our trip to the reef today - we're heading out there on Tuesday 7 October. The booking officer told us we need to be at the ferry terminal at 7.45am - it sets sail at 8.30am. We're looking forward to that!!

We had a relaxing time mostly in the hotel pool this afternoon. I took some photos of the girls and Ian splashing around and having fun.
